Also, in 1863 Thomas Bowdler is advertising the King’s Head Dawley in the Post Office directory, and again in Slater's directory 1868, as a retailer of beer, Burton Street.
In the 1871 census Thomas Bowdler’s occupation is “Retired Beer Seller” and probably living next door to the pub, Henry Jones is now running the pub.
Henry had married Mary Bowdler on the 16th April 1861, I don’t know if Mary was related to Thomas Bowdler, in the 1851 census there was a Mary Bowdler working as a House Servant aged 16 at the Lord Hill Dawley which may be her?
